Rén is made up of individuals who enjoy cooking and eating and care about Hong Kong’s underprivileged community. We help young people with job placements in restaurants, sponsor after school initiatives – from jam making workshops to skateboarding classes – and organise fundraisers to support local charities.

For me, kindness means being friendly, generous, considerate, and patient. As the famous quote states, “no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted”.

I’ve always wanted to find my own small way of supporting the community and  r é n can do that because we have a range of advocates willing to help us, including Basehall 02, Island Shangri-La and Miramar Hotels.

I want rén to become a household name in the lifestyle, social enterprise space and work with a range of recognised brand names locally or even globally. We hope to achieve recognition within the food and beverage industry through our campaigns.

You can help your community by first reaching out to your CSR department at work and finding out if there are things you can do to volunteer or join the committee. If your company doesn’t have such a department, form your own, pick a charity or social enterprise you’d like to help and contact them. If you want to get involved with r é n, we need volunteers to help out at events and are also looking for photographers.
