Hawai‘i, Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort debuts this summer as the latest incarnation of its iconic namesake.

Located on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island and spanning 32-hecatres of stunning geologic landscape and richness, the reimagined Kona Village Resort will draw inspiration from the history of the site, local culture, and natural elements to deliver a distinctively Hawaiian experience.

From the design to the amenities to the experiential offerings, every element of the new Rosewood has been carefully curated to celebrate the quintessential elements of the original Kona Village Resort that made it so beloved and will demonstrate a profound connection to and appreciation of the habitat and heritage of its one-of-a-kind location within the ahupua’a of Kaupulehu.

Spearheaded by Hawai’i-raised architect Greg Warner of Walker Warner Architects and designed by San Francisco-based interior design firm Nicolehollis, offerings will include 150 guest hale (a traditional Hawaiian structure, much like a refined beach bungalow); five restaurants and bars, including the original resort’s beloved Shipwreck Bar and Talk Story Bar; and a full-service Asaya, Rosewood’s integrative wellness concept, complete with a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

A commitment to sustainability will be evident throughout the entire property (the resort will be powered 100% by solar energy), while an on-site cultural centre will further provide both visitors and locals with perspective into the rich natural and cultural significance of the surroundings.
