A Celtic sauna village arranged according to earth energies. A natural bathing pond where water is kept clean and clear without chemicals. A suite with a private sauna, whirlpool, and terrace. Unfolding across over 70,000-sqm of low mountain forestland in Gonnesweiler, the property, a member of Design Hotels, is a luxury oasis with an abundance of private, quiet spaces for solitude and mindful rejuvenation. Surrounded by pines and oaks and with views of the lake beyond is an outdoor sauna complex aligned with documented earth energies in the tradition of Celtic living. Winding stone paths connect a meditation sauna, a Celtic sauna, a herbal sauna, a ritual room infused with incense, a relaxation space with a lake view, and large yurt for unwinding around a 360-degree fireplace.

Nearby, a former putting green was recently transformed into an all-natural 560-sqm bathing pond, where a mixture of native water plants, waterspouts, and natural regeneration areas ensure clean, clear water—without any added chemicals. A small beach also offers cozy loungers and daybeds as well as a newly opened kiosk serving refreshing bowls, salads, and other healthful bites.

Following the extensive expansion, the hotel’s spa now cover 5,000-sqm, nearly doubling it in size. Beyond the outdoor complex, inside, guests can indulge in bespoke treatments, take in lake views from the panorama sauna and relaxation rooms, participate in daily mindfulness programs, and experience fresh cuisine prepared with local ingredients.

New to the spa is a fourth relaxation room with a small reading nook as well as an intimate flotation pool, which can be booked exclusively as a private experience. The effects of floating in the saltwater solution—which maintains the same temperature of the skin—include stress reduction, improved sleep, muscle, spine, and joint relief, and the release of tensions.

Other signature treatments and rituals, such as peelings, massages, and body wraps carried out with Thalgo and Team Dr Joseph products, emphasise ancient Celtic knowledge of the powers of medicinal herbs and plants. Plus, an expanded terrace and indoor/outdoor infinity pool blend in with the lake beyond.

Complementing the spa experience, a dedicated yoga studio offers a variety of classes, including guided meditation, signature Wyda yoga in the Celtic tradition, vinyasa flow, and restorative yoga. Those seeking more rigorous activity can also enjoy the recently opened fitness center, housed in a standalone building with state-of-art Technogym equipment, or join a yoga class hosted on SUP boards on the lake.

For visitors seeking the ultimate luxury, the hotel’s brand-new Spa Suite features a private sauna, whirlpool, and terrace alongside a spacious bedroom and separate living room, offering an unforgettable experience.

And complementing any stay is the hotel’s cuisine. Be it a light bite at the Spa Bistro or a fine-dining multicourse dinner at Restaurant LUMI, breads are baked in-house; herbs, mushrooms, and honey are cultivated and harvested onsite; and even the bar’s gin and various tonics are made in-house. No matter the meal, the focus is on local and natural ingredients, echoing the resort’s overarching ethos of luxuriously reconnecting with oneself and the healing properties of nature.
