While the interiors are contemporary and captivating, the lodge’s profile (including rooves planted with local savannah grasses) is subdued to allow it to nestle seamlessly into its environment. The Nambiti reserve is regarded as one of South Africa’s most ambitious conservation initiatives and one of the few reserves where you can view the Big Five free from the threat of malaria. You’ll be able to explore the reserve by electric game vehicle, take an animal photography class, visit a historic battlefield, shower in the waterfalls of the Drakensberg, stargaze, take a cooking class using local ingredients, camp high in the mountains, or take part in sustainable initiatives.
