The Sira, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, has opened on the Indonesian island of Lombok.

Located a 90-minute drive from Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport, the new resort promises to be a living cultural expression of Lombok’s history, culture and indigenous traditions while offering direct access to the sprawling sands of Sire Beach.

Set to make a bold and luxurious design statement on the island, the hotel’s interiors were conceptualised by IU Design, who has incorporated local craftsmanship, including handwoven tenun ikat fabrics from Lombok and intricately detailed solid teak lattice walls from Java, throughout the property.

To imbue a warm and inviting ambience, the hotel’s design incorporates wooden materials through its 46 beautifully appointed suites and 14 pool villas – we quite like fancy the palatial 1,400-sqm Beach House, a spectacular villa with three bedrooms that opens to a private, blue-tiled plunge pool, with direct beach access.

Look out for all-day dining at The Island’s Table; Asian specialities at Sija, an outdoor eatery located poolside; and Mediterranean dishes crafted from Lombok’s finest ingredients at Medsa, and leave time for a treatment at The Spa, home to five private treatment rooms and a host of Indonesian herbal treatments.
