The newest venture by Dubai’s Sunset Hospitality Group, who has extensive experience creating captivating beach clubs and who recently opened Mamasita and Santana on the island, A La Folie, named for the French word for ‘madness’, masterfully fuses fun and refinement, with a contemporary French-Mediterranean culinary experience and a mesmerising rooftop pool flanked by sunbeds and cabanas and with views to the Indian Ocean.

A La Folie’s design captures the essence the Med with a chilled, boho-luxe vibe that flows through the space thanks to soft hues, sleek wooden touches, and modern decor. The new venue exudes a relaxed and sophisticated vibe, effortlessly blending earthy tones with vibrant pops of pastel yellow and playful lemon patterns to capture the essence of a beachside paradise.

A simple yet elegant Mediterranean menu by head chef Jules Winckler elegantly captures the essence of Europe with locally sourced ingredients. Highlights include Salt & Pepper Squid with tangy lime chilli sauce; Truffle Croque-monsieur, a classic French favourite reimagined with a luxurious twist; and La Salade Niçoise, a vibrant medley of flavours, with seared tuna taking centre stage amidst crisp greens, smoky roasted peppers, tangy anchovies and artichokes, sweet cherry tomatoes, savory black olives, and a softly cooked egg.

Alternatively, try Le Tiradito, a standout dish where thinly sliced sea bass is marinated in citrus, garnished with red onion, and paired with crispy corn; classic Le steak-frites, a 300gr grilled black Angus ribeye dusted with Sichuan pepper corns and served with hand-cut chips; and, for a sweet ending, Le Grand 1000 Feuille, a dessert featuring caramelised puff pastry layered with orange blossom and pistachio cream and pistachio praline, and crowned with vanilla Chantilly.
