To mark the season change in the historic capital, the five-star hotel announces three brand-new menus designed to tantalise the tastebuds.

Akla Restaurant boasts a modern design, elegant interiors, and the blue and white tiled motifs that Portugal is world-renowned for, all of which add to the authentic Portuguese gastronomic experience.

Chef Eddy Melo has worked across the globe including Canada, the US, Jamaica, and Europe meaning he can infuse innovation with tradition making the five-star hotel the ideal “foodie” destination this Autumn.

“Portugal has remarkable cuisine that deserves to be showcased and celebrated. Creating these new menus has been a delight and my team and I are thrilled to create dishes that use the freshest ingredients the country’s environment has to offer,” says the chef. “By sourcing ingredients from local producers, we are promoting culinary sustainability whilst also providing our guests with the true taste of Autumn in the city and an insight into what it means to eat like a local in Lisbon.”

The new menus feature Autumn classics such as Roasted Pumpkin Soup, Chanterelle Mushroom Risotto with Saffron, Grilled Lamb Loin with Caramelised Fennel, and Grilled Beef Tenderloin with Roasted Baby Potatoes and Broccolini with Parmesan.

Akla Restaurant pays homage to the tastes of the fine country as seen by its plethora of fish and seafood dishes. Particular highlights include Grilled Octopus with White Asparagus and Sautéed Sweet Potatoes, Roasted Codfish with Garlic, Olive Oil, Padrón Peppers and Roasted Potatoes, and Yellow Fin Tuna Tartar with Miso and Sesame Seeds Mille-feuille and Sambal Mayonnaise.

To finish the idyllic Autumnal culinary journey, Akla Restaurant has a wonderful selection of sweet treats. Particular favourites for their esteemed clientele are Vanilla Crème Brûlée with Cinnamon Ice Cream, “Choco-Citrus” Entremet with Wasabi Ice Cream and Yuzu Gel, and Josper Grilled Azorean Pineapple with Spicy Island Cheese Foam and Cherry Guava Sorbet.

“A drink is not only a drink… It’s a whole experience” – the philosophy that the hotel’s Uptown Bar perfectly embodies and can be tasted in the delicious bar menu. With its mirrored walls, neon lights, and brightly coloured seating, Uptown Bar has a delectable selection of innovative drinks using local artisanal products.

After a glorious Autumnal day of exploring Portugal’s cultural capital, guests can enjoy signature cocktails, such as Violet Spring, with vodka, red fruit juice, violet liquor, lemon, and lavender syrup); Beirão Tonic, with Beirão Liquor, orange juice, mint, and tonic water); and the Presto Sour, with rye whiskey, lemon, sugar syrup, basil, and aniseed).

InterContinental Lisbon is proud to cater to all dietary requirements, as seen by its extraordinary non-alcoholic cocktails, including Untouched, with pear juice, lime, sugar, ginger, basil, and lemonade; and Feeling Fresh, a blend of pineapple juice, lemon, sugar, celery, and cardamom.
