Keraton at The Plaza – Jakarta’s Royal-Inspired New Landmark

Recently opened as the first Unbound Collection by Hyatt property in Southeast Asia, the new Keraton at The Plaza – my favourite hotel in the Indonesian capital, hands down – boasts a distinguished address that reimagines Indonesia’s royal palaces while ensuring you’re always close to the heart of this vibrant metropolis.
Designed for discerning travellers by celebrated interiors firm Hadiprana, this luxurious new hotel offers 138 spacious rooms and suites starting from 64 sqm, each with soaring ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and touches of modern Indonesian flair. Savvy couples and corporate travellers alike will love the exquisite renditions of batik kawung, one of the oldest batik patterns synonymous with the Javanese royals, that were developed to distinguish the bed and TV panels in each spacious guest room or suite.

Inspired by the eclectic spirit of Queensland’s vibrant Burleigh Beach precinct, and set within an architectural masterpiece, the new Mondrian Gold Coast features just 208 studios, fully self-contained suites, homes and Sky Houses, offering travellers to Australia’s tropical playground a choice of views over the Pacific Ocean or iconic Gold Coast Hinterland.

Six Senses London – Wellness Meets Urban Sophistication

Marking Six Senses’ entry into the UK’s luxury hotel scene, the much-anticipated Six Senses London in Bayswater offers wellness-loving wanderers an urban sanctuary at The Whiteley, a re-imagined and historic Art Deco department store located just steps from iconic Hyde Park.
The flagship hotel features just 109 rooms (as well as 14 residences for those who can’t bear to leave) an elegant and cosy lobby bar and lounge, an all-dining restaurant with alfresco courtyard seating, and, once your appetite is sated, a modern fitness centre, a signature Six Senses Spa and a glorious 20-metre indoor pool.

Another highly anticipated new arrival, the luxurious Regent Bali Canggu has opened, perched directly on the glorious sands of Southern Bali and offering 150 sublime suites and villas with stunning views of the Indian Ocean.

Another anticipated opening in London, The Other House Covent Garden combines chic, apartment-style living – think ‘Club Flat’ accommodations equipped with living spaces and kitchenettes – with five-star hotel services and access to an exclusive private club.
Nestled close to the renowned Covent Garden piazza, the striking boutique property spans seven historic buildings (including a former rectory), unified by a striking glazed atrium and The Other House’ own signature ‘British Maximalist’ décor.

Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi – The Vietnamese Capital’s New Regal Retreat

Located in Hanoi’s historic Tây Hồ district, the new Dusit Le Palais Tu Hoa Hanoi draws inspiration from the life of Princess Từ Hoa and her enduring legacy. The lavish new urban hideaway property, a 20-minute drive from the capital’s airport, was inspired by the legacy of Princess Từ Hoa, daughter of Emperor Lý Thần Tông, who reigned from 1128 to 1138, and who was celebrated for her pioneering contributions to the silk industry.
The new urban hideaway comprises 207 beautifully appointed rooms and suites with panoramic views of the lake or city skyline, contemporary styling and subtle Vietnamese detailing.
Guests can enjoy a curated collection of dining experiences ranging from Soi Restaurant, which showcases bold and authentic Thai cuisine, to Vinci Italian Restaurant and Rooftop Bar, which offer refined Italian fare alongside sweeping views of the city.
But be sure to leave time for a bite at Phở Lụa, which presents a cosy al fresco setting dedicated to Vietnam’s beloved noodle soup, before taking a dip in the 9th-floor outdoor swimming pool.
The Sira – Luxurious Lombok Living in Indonesia

Located a 90-minute drive from Lombok’s Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport, The Sira delivers guests a living cultural expression of the tropical island’s history, culture and indigenous traditions while offering direct access to the sprawling sands of Sire Beach.
Making a bold and luxurious design statement on a destination that is increasingly rivalling neighbouring Bali for tourism popularity, the hotel’s interiors have been conceptualised by IU Design, which has incorporated local craftsmanship, including handwoven tenun ikat fabrics from Lombok and intricately detailed solid teak lattice walls from Java, throughout the property.
The design also incorporates wood and natural materials throughout its 46 beautifully appointed suites and 14 pool villas – I quite fancy the palatial 1,400-sqm Beach House, a spectacular villa with three bedrooms that opens to a private, blue-tiled plunge pool with direct beach access.
Look out for all-day dining at The Island’s Table; Asian specialities at Sija, an outdoor eatery located poolside; and Mediterranean dishes crafted from Lombok’s finest ingredients at Medsa, and leave time for a treatment at The Spa, home to five private treatment rooms and a host of Indonesian herbal treatments.

Casa Foscolo Hotel – A Historic Haven in Istanbul’s Vibrant Pera Precinct

Nestled in the centre of Istanbul’s second most historic neighbourhood, the new Casa Foscolo Hotel is the ideal base from which to explore the city’s rich heritage and eclectic neighbourhoods. Guest rooms feature contemporary art, including hand-crafted sculptures, and almost entirely bespoke furniture produced with locally sourced materials. Pops of colour in the kitchenettes augment the artwork, and this contemporary feeling crosses over into the bathrooms, with their natural and lighter hues, ceramic furnishings and textured green and white walls.
Meet fellow guests in the serene Minoa Library, home to lingering breakfasts and Mediterranean cuisine, while downstairs, a dedicated coworking space hosts rotating exhibitions with local and international artists.
Lord of Snow – Refined Family Living in the French Alps

Perfectly suited for travelling families, Haute Montagne has opened Lord of Snow, a seductive new ski-in ski-out super chalet just off the famed Bellecote Piste in France.
The result of four years of design effort by French architect Sophie Decoopman, Lord of Snow spans six floors and an impressive 1,200 sqm. Accommodating up to 14 guests in seven exquisitely appointed bedrooms, including a stunning master suite, the new arrival is perfect for multi-generational families looking to hit the slopes of Courchevel 1850, from its private in-chalet spa, complete with an indoor swimming pool, hammam, sauna and state-of-the-art gym to its unique collection of hand-selected, antique furniture, with some dating back to the 18th century.
After a day on the slopes, families can gather for a cosy night in the private cinema room or enjoy a game in the stylishly appointed Billiards room whilst a private chef prepares favourite canapes and cocktails and a dedicated concierge team arranges everything from heli-skiing to snow picnics.

The Granger – San Diego’s New Design-Savvy Time Machine

A member of Design Hotels, the new Granger Hotel lets guests slip back in time with its combination of original architectural details dating back to 1904, juxtaposed with custom contemporary artworks and a curated selection of vintage and bespoke furniture.
Located in the downtown Gaslamp Quarter and housed in a grand Romanesque building with arched windows and a carved stone entrance that was commissioned by influential banker Ralph Granger, the hotel’s design persona, which references eras from the 1920s to the 70s, extends throughout the 96 guestrooms, including four corner suites and a clutch of loft-style studios. Each features handcrafted built-ins and custom rattan armoires, vintage books and unique artworks contrasted by original tin ceilings and windows.
Start your morning off with great coffee at The Parlour Room, which evolves through the day to serve classic evening libations from its Cristallo-glass bar, backdropped by a stunning historical nude painting by artist M. Negus.
The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok – Contemporary Elegance Has a New Home in the Thai capital

Housed in the new 216-metre-high One Bangkok tower, The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok offers a refreshing new retreat amidst the bustling energy of the Thai capital. The hotel overlooks iconic Lumpini Park and seamlessly blends Thailand’s deep cultural heritage with timeless elegance and forward-thinking designs by Chicago-based architecture firm SOM and Thailand’s A49, which has created a facade featuring gracefully ascending open-air terraces that provide sweeping views of the city’s skyline.
The hotel’s rooms and suites, the creation of Thai design studio PIA, feature floor-to-ceiling windows, contemporary art and bespoke furnishings, while many boast private loggias and terraces overlooking the lush expanse of Lumpini Park. Foodies will love the new Duet by David Toutain, led by the eponymous Michelin-recognised chef and culinary prodigy Valentin Fouache, which serves modern French cuisine in a stunning glasshouse.

Cheval Blanc Seychelles – An Intimate Escape to the Indian Ocean’s Celebrity Playground

Curled around the Anse Intendance beach on Mahé Island, the new Cheval Blanc Seychelles embodies the exceptional art of living in one of the world’s most beautiful destinations, with 52 villas offering stunning, uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean (book ahead for one that borders the white sand beach).
Each villa, which ranges in size from 220 sqm to 620 sqm, has its own 12.5-metre swimming pool, works by artists such as Joël Andrianomearisoa and Prune Nourry, and lines by architect Jean-Michel Gathy, who was also responsible for the Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives.
